WCSI Radio News and Views Interview with EcO Attainment Network Manager Kathy Huffman

On June 23, 2018, John Clark, host of the WCSI News and Views program, interviewed Kathy Huffman, Manager for the EcO Attainment Network,  to learn about the EcO Attainment Network and the region’s Lumina Talent Hub designation which was awarded in the Fall of 2017.

The Community Education Coalition (CEC) of Columbus, Indiana and its largest regional initiative, the EcO Network of Southeast Indiana (Economic Opportunities through Education), are among 24 communities in America to receive Lumina Foundation’s Talent Hub designation. The CEC and EcO Network earned this designation by meeting rigorous standards for creating environments that attract, retain, and cultivate talent, particularly among today’s students, many of whom are people of color, the first in their families to go to college, and from low-income households.

The Talent Hub designation enhances the EcO Network’s ability to accelerate and advance community and regional credential attainment efforts by improving attainment outcomes for adults with no postsecondary education experience, focusing on Latino adults and low-income adults.
